The next couple of years are going to be rocky. Russia is going to pull back from the West - the US is going to pull back from everybody - and the West is going to do its best to unite what's left. Global trade growth might decline for the first time without a recession. Or simply be stagnant. We'll see what happens with China - Trump wants the Chinese to eliminate at least $100 Billion in trade deficits and he's going to impose tariffs on Chinese goods next week.

I still am not certain why the gloves haven't come off yet... Or maybe they already have, and we aren't hearing about it.

Either way, the only response that I think is just is for the West to make several dozen Russian humint assets disappear everytime this happens. Dump the corpses on the street.

To Pompeo's credit he's an avid hater of Russia. But he's also possibly nuts and really likes the idea of military force (too much IMO).

and yes, he's a terrible choice for top diplomat since he pushes military options too much. he's fine choice for national security adviser or something. military options in dealing with russia should be explored but we need to circle the wagons and make them hurt even more with diplomacy. they are a rogue state, only one with more nuclear weapons than we have (and that's known... im sure they have even more unknown ones because they are f**k russians)
