The Congressional mandate is mostly why the USPS is in the red. Considering that by law they have to deliver mail to every single part of the country, even parts and places where I'm sure it loses money, it actually runs pretty well.. As does SS, Medicare, NASA. The Military.

Comparing private industries who only have to make a buck and appease their stockholders to government operations who mostly can't pick and choose what demographic they want to cater too, or can't lop off part of the business that isn't money is quite unfair. UPS don't want to deliver to someplace in the country because it doesn't make money there, they don't have to.. The USPS does have to...

Nothing with the ACA itself, but SOMETHING MAJOR with the gov't running things. The post office hasn't been operated efficiently since inception. It's always lost money, now more than ever. It's poorly managed, poorly run and yet there it is, chugging along. The same gov't, that is responsible for the post office, wants to run our health care system.

Its one thing to let the clusterfucck gov't deliver a letter, but when they start getting between me and my doctor, that's when I have a problem.

As for the gov't not being able to run anything properly, time and time again the people you support demonstrate that in one of the most bizarre self-fulfilling prophecies of modern times.

"The gov't sucks! So elect us, and we'll then prove it! And then we'll run on the fact that the gov't sucks!"
