150 years is just not that long. That's roughly the lifespan of two people who age to around 80. Of course there are confederate sympathizers who taught their children such wickedness, who in turn taught their children such wickedness and who are now living among us.

You say that there were other reasons, against all of the legitimate historical evidence that exists, but you don't seem eager to cite these alleged "other reasons." Please do so.

The power of the Federal government was only an issue insofar as the issue of slavery was concerned. The only sociopolitical difference that had a tangible impacted upon the Civil War was the social institution of slavery. Clearly the largest difference in economic structure was, who would've guessed, the fact that the Southern economic system was predicated upon a slave economy. The tariff issue itself was mired in the issue of slavery.

The only cause of the Civil War was slavery, all other rationalizations came later. That is not a generalization, that is just a historical fact.

Actually the original cause was the lack of federal support for slave return in slave state laws. The freedom from slavery bit came later.
