If someone wants a gun bad enough, felon or not. They probably will/can get one. That is never going to change. Sure we can make it difficult, but we can't make it impossible.
The hardest part of doing nothing is knowing when your done.

There is probably no plan possible that could totally fix the problem. Its like having 100% security everywhere,all the time. I don't know the $20 word for an un obtainable goal, but i'm sure there is one.

I generally hate the "truth is in between two extremes" cliche, but the anti-gun crowd is often in favor of just about anything to limit gun rights regardless of whether or not it helps, while the gun nuts refuse to even consider the possibility that anything can help and perform a great deal of mental gymnastics to explain why every idea is a bad idea.
