And this is what happens when you elect people that have no intention of governing, but simply based on the criteria that you hate Obama/The Left/Those People and somebody appealed to that.
Because, sooner or later, bills come due (literally) and if you elected people to government who simply feed you endless incendiary rhetoric, you're going to find out that they're insanely incompetent, as we're finding out now.
There was a book out a while ago entitled Do Not Ask What Good We Do, that told in chilling, detached detail of how these Tea Party people would show up newly elected to Congress, not to do anything but to simply destroy. Slash and burn.
The scariest part of if--which you're also seeing now--is most of these people had no idea what they were talking about on most of the relevant subjects, whether it was the economy or whether it was foreign relations.
In other words, Palin-ized.
Yet they did and still do wear their ignorance as some sort of bizarre badge of honor, believing that somehow the only thing they need to "know" is the Bible.
Sound familiar? Hmmm who's that other group that believes there's only one "law" that applies to them and justifies everything they do? Hmmm.
I've heard some of these freaks say out loud that a default not only would be minor, but would actually help the markets. That's suicide vest stuff people. They're all excited because a lot of them thinks this will hasten The Rapture and oh, BTW, you have to die in the process. Who cares though as long as they get their pass to Heaven.
But what sticks with me most was what happened this weekend at the WWII memorial. Allegedly they were there to honor vets--ha, they couldn't even maintain that facade for any amount of time before it turned into a full-blown tea party rantfest, where Obama was told to put down the Koran and come out with his hands up and of course the confederate flag made its appearance along with the "IMPEACH OBAMA!" signs and protesters telling a black cop he looked like a Kenyan.
In other words, all the same shit these people were saying the day after Obama got elected--because it's never gone away, just been more amplified and radicalized, fed by the non-stop FOX Nation propaganda and the shrill rants of the Limbaughs and Hannitys of the world, who cannot stop reinforcing the idea that their once proud, white America has come under attack (along with their religion) from that Muslim n_______ in the White House and all them blacks, Muslims, Mexicans and gays out there.
They're just incoherent at this point. Now it's getting kinda scary. Like something bad is going to happen. And I don't mean the default. I mean some sort of violent act.
