Being that this generation is having to cope with the crash of '08 I'd say this is different from anything in recent history. Political instability has increased greatly around the world and increasingly in European countries where anti-EU parties continue to get more of the vote. Fragmentation is here to stay because opportunity for all is, at this point, clearly not a priority for those already in their careers. We are slowly turning into Europe in terms of employment and opportunity and our social mobility has been consistently worse than Europeans for a while now.
I'm trying to stay optimistic but I truly do believe this environment is ripe for change, all it'll take at this point is a catalyst.
