for Non the best macro-solutions for poverty are found in the tax code. we need to stop pandering to businesses and individuals who literally produce nothing. we need to provide tax relief to the producers and middle-class and start getting the speculator class to pay their fair share.

We need to make our energy independence our top priority again, the only problem is people only cared when prices were ridiculously high. Right now, everyone loves the low price and wants to go buy more things for christmas.

Energy independence, sure, but based on green energy, not shit like fracking. You guys have a good opportunity to leverage existing infrastructure to pay for it - direct oil revenue towards green energy, and then encourage the shit out of R and D. Canada and the US need to make big investments.

I think it is deeply irresponsible of us to destroy land like that. Fracking is an environmental disaster. The oil sands are an environmental disaster. What we are doing for short term gain is monumentally stupid IMO.

There's no short term solution, it has to be done temporarily until newer technologies can replace that of current ones. Green energy is rather a hoax atm because it doesn't really replace our current energy needs. Its a long term goal, not a short one.
