I'm not sure how this argument couldn't be used to strip away all freedom entirely? These folks, so rabid about their first amendment rights, but speaking doesn't stop the banks from foreclosing on old ladies and killing their baby dogs, so screw the right to free speech, it is meaningless.

None of our freedoms have curtailed our government. Freedom doesn't curtail government. Force checks government. The problem is, that government forgets that the people have all the force, unless the people exercise that force. Unfortunately, that's not a good day for any of us.

So, don't expect gun owners to go shooting at banks for foreclosures or taking out the NSA until things get worse. That is good. You don't want this to be happening lightly. People will use their other freedom to try to evoke change.

So because your whole owning a gun = liberty fantasy has now been dismantled, you're going to start insisting that I re-post the same things I've been posting for years here? And then Ex can complain again that I'm repeating the same thing over and over...



What's been auctioned off? Enforcement of all the protections that kept our economy safe since the 1930s, for starters.

Here's one: how about the liberty to not be held financially liable for the gambling losses of TBTF banks who, when they crash the economy next, will help themselves to whatever tax dollars are left to rebuild themselves but if you lose your job and/or home and are thrown into poverty when it happens--no help for you. How about the liberty of being protected from that by your gov't which was BUILT to serve the people, but has been bought off by the worst offenders? How about the liberty to not have a two-tiered justice system?

And that's just one example. Oh, but you've got your gun. So when the depression hits, what are you gonna do? Sell it? Or shoot somebody? Who are you gonna shoot? Who did you deter by owning a gun?

Funny how nobody can answer that question...
