google can block it from google.ca and then canada would have to block google.com or whatever entirely. canada doesn't get to tell other jurisdictions what to do. i know its your birthday but just go eat some syrupy poutine

alternatively, and better, google can can the .ca address and just use google.com and flaunt the ruling with no reprocussions whatsoever. it's a better solution because 1. canada won't block google.com and 2. f**k you

And even on that point he is 100% correct. Google in fact is not an advertising mechanism. They use their indexing tech to stack up search results. A infinitesimally small percentage of these indexed results are the one who have paid for a prominent position in the listings, ahead of time. Though its an important part of the business model, the tech is actually search, and the results are about 99.9999% non-monetized.
