Stop calling each other names. Don't try and be coy about it with the excuse that you didn't single someone out. If you say, "if anyone thinks that they are a moron" or "people that do that should kill themselves" or whatever is similar, I will still see it as a personal attack and suspend you on the spot for 3 days. You didn't say anything. All you did was post a link to an article proving what I said earlier. I didn't ask for anything regarding stand your ground laws, I asked for proof that the intruder must be armed or the level of violence used be one-up to the intruders. Your link proved neither. You were discussing stand-your-ground laws with others, I was discussing, with exploited, the one-up bullshit crap he discussed.

Do you even realize your link had absolutely nothing to do with the castle doctrine or stand-your-ground laws? Chasing someone around is not standing your ground. As one lawyer once told me, you can't give the intruder any chance that he will fear for HIS life if he is retreating as then he may use deadly force against you and be within his right. You must stay on the defensive. The moment you go on the offensive you have lost your rights and you become the criminal.

Notice the law says "to defend your home and property." DEFEND being the keyword.

In fact, the concept of proportionality has done more to protect legitimate self-defence than any Stand Your Ground legislation ever has or ever will.
