What people who have not studied the subject refer to as state socialism is not socialism but, in fact, state capitalism. Socialism is either voluntary or it is not socialism, by definition. Socialism is workers' (and the general public's) democratic control over production and exchange.
The fact still remains that Jesus advocated well known socialist principles, principles that Marx later essentially repeated whole cloth, and the apostles acted accordingly.
