Anyone ever considered that its not illegal to drive after not having slept for 2 or 3 days? I'd rather drive wide awake after a couple of beers than after having had a couple of nights of insomnia like I get sometimes. Heck, I've had to sleep at work because I didn't sleep the night before at home and was in no shape to drive 25 miles down an interstate to get home.

I'm not disagreeing with much of what's being said here. But the excuse that there's other distractions in your car and other ways to kill people with your car is not a good argument..

If you blow a .10, and pass the field tests then kill someone down the road when you go to trial or are sued that line of reasoning is not going to fly.. It wouldn't do the cop who let you go much good either when he's asked in court why he let a guy with a blood level of .10 drive on further and kill someone.

Some situations there probably has to be black and white..

But then we get into the discussion of can everyone drive safety with a .15 level?

22 YO girl who weighs 110 lbs?

There's a ton of variables.. And millions of people drink alcohol and also drive, all shapes, sizes and circumstances. Again, without a cut and dry hard number that can assure that anyone who is driving is also sober, I don't know the answer.
