They themselves describe their actions as gang warfare between civilian groups, so it isn't much of a leap - isn't a leap at all, in fact - to imagine they have murdered people. And as none of the groups involved respect the rules of war regarding prisoners, you can be absolutely certain that they have tortured and executed those they capture.
Giving people a fair trial and persecuting them for murder isn't irrational ranting. One does not simply get a free pass when you kill another human being... And it is a gross miscarriage of justice when that happens.
As I said earlier, these men should be evaluated, offered a fair trial, and perhaps face reduced sentencing if they are cooperative and provide valuable intelligence. But you don't simply allow them to get away with murder. Period. It is impossible to deradicalize if you don't fess up to your crimes and face responsibility for them anyways.
