Being serious for a second, I think most people who "abuse" drugs of any kind are trying to self medicate some type of mental problems they have. I was a pretty chronic substance abuser until i started taking Lexipro and the occasional xanax for my horrid anxiety. It's like the need to abuse drugs disappeared overnight. I still tote if the time is right and I can get some good stuff but I can take it or leave it, it's not that serious anymore where as 6 years ago it was a serious probelm

The real argument is: So?
There are plenty of examples of things in the world that are bad for us if we imbibe/injest them. If the feds do their job and make sure there are clear warnings on the things you buy then it is up to the consumer, given his inalienable rights, to use as he sees fit...
