I think that it's important to recognize that regardless of the circumstance, a lot of people deal with shitty things of their own or even not their own doing. It's disparaging that people who are in a good position are criticizing people who are in lesser positions. I think that such criticisms stink of insecurity, lack of humility, introspection, and compassion.
My heart aches when I hear stories of people who can't afford medicine, or lose a job because their car won't start and then lose thier home, or can't afford Christmas presents for their children. I don't care how it happens, it still sucks. I much prefer a world where that kind of sadness and destruction can be mitigated by compassionate people who realize there is a lot more to life than political agendas or material wealth.
I'm really disappointed.
I know on this forum we all give each other a hard time, and that's great and I enjoy it. But I'll be the first to tell you guys that some of the stories I hear on occasion make me want to cry because of how much they suck. at what point do we stop beating people who need help and do our best to bring them up?
