I pointed out that this fearmongering about how you need guns in your home for that inevitable home invasion is what Wayne LaPierre and the NRA have been pimping for years.

Selling fear means selling guns.

What exactly is the mystery here again? Because somebody who wasn't Wayne LaPierre just used that same argument, this isn't true? lolwut?

Do we really need guns? Well, probably not 24-7-365. But only when someone is wanting to do you harm.

I don't care about stats one way or the other, both sides are adept at blowing smoke up asses. Give me the freedom to weigh my own risk/reward ratio, take whatever precautions I think are necessary to insure I'm safe with my firearms. I'm not going to accidentally shoot someone, I'm not gonna sell them to criminals or otherwise let fall into the wrong hands. Punish those who f**k up and leave everyone else alone.
