The society pages is a publication from the University of Minnesota. I see no reason why an academic publication from an established and accredited university is not a valid source.
As for the racist comments you randomly tacked onto the end of your post, no comment, other than just because you could probably predict that your comments would be called racist doesn't mean they aren't.
