You know what's sad, is our society focuses so much on disabled children or children with mental illnesses, when brilliant children and children with serious potential don't get the same societal attention.
We have public schools and programs for the mentally ill and disabled, but who has ever heard of a public school for the gifted? I bet you smart, creative, and gifted children far outnumber children with mental problems.

Gifted kids already have poor social skills, due to their alienation from normal childhood stupidity. Would it really be better to isolate? I can see some special classes, or a supplementary curriculum, but an entire school?
