I do not think people become more conservative when they get older, they instead become more realistic regardless of their actual political positions. This is why a lot of Americans are centrists and not extremely left or right. I think millennials that want government to provide them education, healthcare, etc. want it because it eases their overall expenses and out-of-pocket cost of living, which is a common trend among the generation across the globe. Basically, the life starter kit is too expensive in 2013 and they want some help to get started. I would not go as far as calling them collectivist, although I am a lot more of a fan of capitalism and profits then they are. I am much more a fan of public options rather than nationalization, but I see where they are coming from. Without starting a education debate, IMO I think too many kids go to college these days. The market is not keeping up with the amount of BA holders and kids end up in massive debt at 21 instead of heading into a starting level position for their careers of choice.
