I take the opposite approach. I don't think we execute enough people and it should be done in public, in more gruesome manners.
If you are death row now it's almost like you are a celebrity. People give a damn about you, lawyers want to work for free to take up your cause no matter how shitty a human being you are. We need to go back to hanging, drawing and quartering people.
I'm probably the only person on this thread that has a family member that's been on death row. My grandfather, my mother's father, robbed a liquor store and killed 2 people while in the process of robbing the store about 2 years before I was born. He was sentenced to death but it got commuted to life, then that got reduced to 25 years.
So he gets out of prison when I'm like, 23 years old. 6 months later he beats a man unconscious over a dispute in a dice game. Right back in prison. They should have killed him when they had the chance.
