God I've read some truly awful opinions on gender politics, but the rationalization of forced child care as an obligation of any man who inserts his penis inside a vagina while simultaneously defending the right to choose abortion is just the most hypocritical BS I've ever seen. It not only empowers the female gender to make choices independent of the male - which I agree should be legal, as the state has no reason to interfere in abortion - but it completely puts the male at the whims of another person whereas a woman does not experience such nonsense. And it's not 'natural.' Nothing about the state is 'natural.' I uphold the libertarian position that the state has no purpose in either affair except for extraordinary circumstances.

I've come around on child support laws. I now agree that the man should have no obligation to support an unwanted child.

Couple things:

1. He should be required to swear off all future custodial privileges;

2. He should be required by the courts to undergo chemical sterilization, since this is as much an option for men as abortion is an option for women. If he decides to go off it in the future, he is 100% responsible for 50% of any other child he has, regardless of his personal wishes.

3. He should face a tax penalty to offset the child's nearly inevitable use of social services, since single-parent homes are many times more likely to require these services. I'd be willing to forego this one, but really, the State needs to recoup some of these costs, since other taxpayers are being forced to pay for care that doesn't even concern them in the slightest.
