The thing that kills me about people citing the debt growth since Obama took over is that they ignore that the debt exploded under Bush, then completely went nuclear after the meltdown--again during Bush--and Obama inherited that.

Then everybody was all "We can't have debt spending!"

here though a car = shackles. you can either sit outside every 2 days waiting for the street cleaner or park it in a garage and hassle with that nonsense every time you need it. i just zipcar when i need a car and htat's pretty easy so i still have hte freedom to deal with traffic congestion and tolls when i want to.

Dylan - you need the right car. Go drive something with character. A Nissan Altima or Toyota Camry just won't do it. Go drive a 1969 Camaro. Go drive a Honda S2000. Go drive a Hummer. Go drive a Viper! Only when you have truly "driven" a car will you understand the joy that is car ownership.

I love driving. I'd rather be driving my car than watching TV. Heck, that's not even a real choice. I'd rather be driving my car than doing most things.

Better yet, find a real racetrack near you (if you're in NY, try Watkins Glen) and rent a car for a track day. After 10 laps of driving 100+mph and cornering so hard that the seat belt is the only thing holding you in the car, your hands will be shaking from the adrenaline rush.

Or, take the bus. It requires no thought.

Oh, driving on open roads is damn fun. But for day to day use a car would add 30 minutes both ways to my daily commute. NEIN.

When I move into less densely populated areas again I'll definitely get a car. Probably a BMW. Always been a fan.
