The Truth is the Truth. Look at castro's full record and don't be afraid of the truth. He was a murderous lunatic who ran his country into the ground with a failed ideology - but he DID do some positive things in terms of increasing literacy and access to healthcare. It's like they think if we acknowledged he helped people learn to read we will suddenly forget the forced marches and firing squads. In fact, the only way we forget about the bad stuff is if we abandon telling the truth even when it doesn't suit us.

Castro stuff is pretty clearly just openly cynical political attacks. Bernie has already united the Democratic base among people under 50 across all other dividing lines like race, gender, ideological tendency, etc. His opponents and the media have realized that these people are no longer falling for their stupid bullshit and doesn't care about petty shit like an edgelord essay he wrote in the 70s or (extremely accurate and correct) comments he made decades ago about how George Wallace tapped into the materially-based populist frustrations of poor southern whites to promote his anti-Civil Rights agenda. This is why Bernie is already nearly poised to just keep sweeping primaries and they can't stop it.

But in order to actually get a decisive majority coalescing around him, Sanders still needs to bring his support up among olds. He's clearly not their ideal choice, but I think a lot of them would start to come around before long if he keeps winning state after state. What we are seeing is a gamble that digging up more red scare bullshit will keep the olds out of the Sanders camp for longer so he doesn't just slam the door shut before they know what hit them. I sadly cannot say with confidence that it won't work.

It is impossible for me to comprehend how people presume conventional wisdom about elections and electability still holds, and will always hold. "AMERICANS WON'T VOTE FOR A SOCIALIST," scream the retards, even as America is ruled by a serial adulteress, rapist, thief and liar who was elected in large part due to Evangelicals, and was nominated specifically because he a piss on essentially every major conservative plank and politician of the past 30 years.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: "moderate" Democrats (known as Republicans in whatever timeline they didn't go completely insane in) are the most incompetent and unintelligent block of political thinkers out there. Guys like Carville are literally retarded and are completely wrong about everything, but they insist they have some sort of special grasp of the electorate. It is truly bewildering to behold. Even diehard Trump voters have a better intuitive sense of what plays in the electorate.

If the Democrats throw this election to some generic f**k like Buttchug or Biden, my honest opinion is that, for all intents and purposes, the Democrat party is over. I don't mean they won't hold office, or occasionally gain the Presidency or legislature,what I mean is that the party will never again have any political purpose. It will exist solely as a reactionary party that provides a more polite alternative to the natural governing party, the Republicans.

i just had lunch and made a passing comment with other software engineers of "everybody voting for trump on tuesday in the primary?" and people laughed because it was a joke. but then someone said bernie and one of my coworkers started angrily declaring he's a communist and he'd gladly vote for trump over a communist

have work cut out for you. he's a college educated software engineer that doesn't listen to much news at all (didn't even know the president was being impeached), but he has absorbed that bernie is a communist
