You understand that silenced weapons are still loud as bell right? I just want to clear that part of your post up, so please don't read into this beyond my first sentence. Silencers are not going to stop people from hearing a massacre.

I'm going to ignore the tired "it's my freedom bro" and "people kill people" arguments since those a both tired memes which should have died with Heston.

From what I understand about silencers, they aren't like in video games where you can cap a guy in the head and the guy 10 feet away doesn't hear. They make a gun less deafening in the immediate area but don't actually "silence" anything. That said, I did a little reading and saw that in a place with a lot of ambient noise, like a city street, a silencer could blend in with a lot of the other sound and go undetected. Since the majority of our crime is not maniacs with AK's but hand guns being used in the inner city, I may have to rethink my position here.

And sorry, but I'm not down with you having a grenade Indy. Non starter for me.

the point of a silencer is to muffle which yes, protects the hearing of the shooter. the number one disability claimed by veterans is hearing loss; one in 5 hearing aids is bought by the VA. http://backhome.news21.com/article/hearing/

of course you take the outraged position that it can only be used nefariously. such people have made it so outrageous requirements like fingerprinting exist for people who wish to buy a suppressor and be approved by the ATF . still there's like a million silencers out there, not magically murdering people
