To be fair, when your country is the one contributing and spending more than all your allies combined, no one is going to appear to be contributing, even if they are truly holding up their end.
It's like a pot luck dinner and you've brought everything (even if you didn't have to), and someone shows up with a green bean casserole. Technically, they contributed but you brought enough for the entire meal, so, even if their dish is awesome, it's going to appear like they didnt put much effort into it.
