There is a reason the lowest rungs of society doesn't adopt the marriage patterns of "respectable" society. They simply don't have the resources to maintain the wasteful and artificial social posturing the bourgeois classes find so necessary to maintain their social standing. So they live like human have always lived. There's nothing wrong with it. There is something wrong with the society that stigmatizes natural human behavior.

The fact is we can control a lot of environmental damage to this planet by eliminating the upper classes of western civilization. They waste far more resources that the masses of third world nations and the slums of their own nations ever will and are literally the scourge that is destroying the planet.
