Can't think of a downside.
- If the US begins large-scale importation from Mexico, and the drug cartels begin interfering, bye-bye cartels. The US will send troops (or something) in to clean up and the cartels will cease to be. (FYI - I'm fine with this, as it is in defense of US property.)

I feel like I was just transported back to 1993.

Mexicans will show up to work and they will give'er.
And you cannot overlook the huge supply of recreational drugs which China does not have in as great of quantity or quality.
Also, the Mexicans play baseball. I like Mexicans.
And they will never have a military that is a threat to the US or anyone else. Maybe a threat to themselves at the most.
If I had a choice on this subject, I would prefer it be Mexico.
And NAB porobably knows just as many jokes on this subject.

I'd much prefer Mexico as a partner BUT they need to get some stability. If any country needs to bring back the death penalty, en mass, it's this place.
