you either have to accept that pundits drive the ideology of their party or parrot the ideology of their party. i think the latter is more factual which would mean that while bill is not the leader of the GOP he's certainly parroting their sentiments.

I'm not defending BOR. Nor am I defending the GOP. But, to say that he = GOP is false. Even if they happen to be saying the same thing, doesn't mean they are always aligned. Just because 2 airliners are both traveling north, doesn't mean they are both going to NYC.
