How is this an issue? In Germany you can't publicly espouse certain ideas, especially if it favors Nazism. In the US, no such laws exist.

Its an issue because he's saying if you disagree with what the mainstream is then "youre stupid".

He's clearly referencing the crazies like God Hates Fags, Neo-Nazis, etc. who enjoy a level of free speech that Germans would not tolerate.

Of course being stupid is tolerated, what the heck are you talking about?
Toleration doesn't means agreement, it means allowing it as part of a free and healthy democratic society. He is talking about freedom of speech, and almost everything is permissible in America. It has a wider definition of that concept than anywhere else.
Using the pharmaceutical definition of the word is the most absurd argument you could make. We are talking about speech, not drug resistance, lol.
