http://live.reuters.com/Event/World_Newshttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/0 ... 40700.htmlnot going to post the "article" because most of it is being put together through live updates but morsi has been overthrown in favor of a technocratic regime being put in place by the military.
this is a good thing. morsi managed to enrage almost half the population into protest with his islamist drivel and needed to go. the fact that the military took such quick and decisive action lowers the risk of widespread sectarian bullshit too, as morsi had almost no time to shore up his power base.

Can't understand the logic of this somehow not being a coup.
If the military is just going to dissolve the government if it doesn't like it...what is the point of having the government in the first place? Completely meaningless. This is exactly as it was called way back when Mubarak was done...the military is actually in charge, and it will be in charge of the next government as well, since clearly they can't just step back and respect their constitutional role, and keep their oaths.
They had to stage a coup so they can call the shots for the next attempt at a civilian government. Hopefully without such a crazed right winger at the helm.
Meanwhile, nobody will touch Egypt with ten foot pole, and their already shit economy flounders further.

People in the Middle East want decent wages and a chance for prosperity.
I for one hope they can make it happen.

Well, they also didn't really step in and do anything until the protests got crazy like this, right?
