The SWAT team for gambling? What?!! I can see if you had SWAT raiding his house looking for weapons, more importantly weapons you knew were there based on undercover work, but for betting on college football? Dafuq?
TBF to SWAT it was an overworked detective that shot him, but still, why was SWAT even there? Send a pair of detectives and bring him in for questioning.
Perhaps Baucum made some money from the gambling and this was an execution. Wouldn't put it past law enforcement.

It's amazing how everyone will agree incidents like this go overboard, but everyone is always ready to thow out the word "hero" when talking about cops, increase their budget to combat fake crimes, and all but granting officers legal immunity for their actions.

Well let's not go overboard here and condemn all cops for the misdeeds of a few. Your example here is truly appalling (I remember this from the first time) but while it should be condemned and guarded against, we can't say this is widespread. Yet.
