I think that many professions these days (politicians, trial attorneys, etc.) have an "us versus them" mindset. For politicians, it's GOP vs Dem. For trial attorneys, it's prosecutor vs defense. What they fail to realize is that they are simply different sides of the same coin. They are both working towards the SAME goal (good policies for the country and justice, respectively).
In this case, and I haven't heard a lot about it, I think that the prosecutors should be investigated. During discovery, they withheld evidence (reportedly) for months, delaying the trial and potentially endangering the outcome of the trial. Then, that stunt that they pulled on the last day by all of a sudden filing new charges of manslaughter, murder 3 and child abuse (only the manslaughter was allowed) was ludicrous. The defense had zero time to prepare a defense. They simply got lucky that the case that they had made was also a defense against manslaughter (self defense).
