I dont consider it running away, more like leading by example- when they see what a success it will become they will take their collective heads out of jars, abandon the welfare state and be libertarian too.

I think a better solution to the human condition is to realize that as individual organisms we've become self aware but that as a social organism we are still an unreasoning beast.

That unreasoning beast organism has domesticated everything on the planet it can for it's own usage and the hell with what individuals want, what is good for nature, other cultures, and the very planet itself.

This is what has to be tamed for humanity to reach it's fullest potential as a cohesive and functioning society of self aware and fully actualized individual organisms. A self-aware conscious social organism is what humanity must become. I think the internet is the first step toward that end, ie a "fully conscious collective consciousness" if it can remain free from undue influence of the world system that exists, which is based on instinctive behavior rather than rationality.

Opening the doorway to the next stage of human evolution is basically a matter of a large enough number of "enlightened" humans coming to this realization and working together. If the work is a success others see the benefit and adopt the new cultural practices. We tamed fire, weather, the sea, and even went to the moon but our finest achievement will will be the social transformation engendered by the taming of our own social instincts via use of those very same instincts, properly channeled. Either we dominate Leviathan or Leviathan will continue to dominate us.
