Seriously? You think that's going to be about the extent of the consequences of a shutdown?

My favorite part is our military men and women not being paid while the plutocrat representatives continue to receive full pay and benefits. Sweet.

And yet in the same breath talk about how they're "warriors" standing up against Nazism and fighting "in the streets and on the beaches" and shouting out things like "Let's roll," so much are they like those passengers on Flight 93!

I don't think I've ever witnessed this level of insanity before. All that aside you also have this kind of thing:

House Republicans approved a continuing resolution that includes a “conscience clause” — a policy that would allow employers and insurers to opt out of providing coverage for women’s preventative care, like birth control, for any moral or religious reason. It’s a direct attack on Obamacare’s birth control benefit, which requires employers to offer this type of preventative care at no additional cost to their female workers.

The same people who don't want abortions want to 86... birth control. These people are in the Stone Age.

The pay of Congress should be the first to go on hold before anything else. End of story. On the lighter side, the rest of the world can enjoy a break from the threat of being bombed or invaded.

We need a national plan no doubt. That plan should be medicaid. WHY? Its already in place and collecting money. It could be upgraded so we all have the same coverage and cost as Congress. To say that can't be done is nothing but TOTAL BS.

Actually here in Illinois the governor was so fed-up with the do-nothing legislature that he withheld their paychecks. He ultimately lost the battle to keep doing it in court, but it won him some points with residents here.

All they did was close stuff that tourists go to and not pay the lowest guys on the totem pole, soldiers. They didn't really shut the government down.
