What do you want to debate, the fact that Ted Cruz is an idiot? I think we're already in agreement.

Two things (or more):

If he's such an obvious idiot (and he is), why does the media continue to treat him as a legitimate political voice?

Second, if what he says is true he just incriminated himself. Will the media call him on it?

As an aside, two other things:

-Does the GOP really think the country outside of their gerrymandered districts full of tea party droolers has any appetite/patience for another attempted impeachment?
-Can we not all agree that the only goal of the current GOP is to make sure that Obama accomplishes nothing and beyond nullifying his presidency, they clearly want to simply remove him from office?

In other words, absolute bankruptcy, ideologically. With all the issues facing this country (and they've now been ignored for years), the GOP brand at this point stands for nothing but obstruction, outrage, investigations and threats to undermine the country if people don't capitulate to their anti-Obama jihad.

Case in point: have you heard about those nominees being held up--still? Oh sure Benghazi may be the latest excuse (60 Minutes hoax notwithstanding), but were it not that it would be another.

I think midterms are going to be a shock for the GOP after all--just like November 2012 was.

In the thread about who we thought will be the candidates for 2016 I said I hope Cruz and Palin are the GOP nominees.. I'm serious. They would get beat so bad in the general election it would either kill the GOP, or the moderates in the GOP would be so fed-up that they would pull out all stops to kill the TP..

Either way the country wins.

Wait what is the specific issue Cruz is citing here, or is he suggesting Obama should be impeached just chase he broke the law in some unspecified incident?

Republicans have to talk about impeachment, because they have already used every possible insult against Obama, so talking about impeachment is the only possible way to step up the verbal assault.

It isn't based on anything in particular, other than their desire to appeal to their base.

Ahhh, a two-fer again. A combination of Obamacare AND... immigration. Which, I'm just polishin' the ole' crystal ball here, I'm guessing will also be stalemated by the GOP for the next three years (immigration reform).

So, on the larger issue, is it safe to say is that these guys can literally be on the wrong side of almost everything and do nothing while in office but obstruct and threaten because they're only accountable to their gerrymandered districts? And they have the full support of the FOX Nation? I used to think it was the latter only that enabled that, but now I think it's both.

That should set up a nice civil war between the remaining moderates in the Senate (moderate meaning: not tea party) and their contemporaries in the House.
