SCOTUS has already effectively protected marriage equality, which is literally the only thing the Democrats have done in 6 years under Obama that differs in any material way from the center of the GOP...

The original idea of the filibuster was to continue debating an issue, which is not at all how it is used currently. The GOP doesn't actually want to debate any of these nominees, because they agree that all of them are qualified. They just don't want to confirm anyone that Obama selected, for no reason other than the fact that Obama selected them. That's not how the senate is supposed to work, so if it takes a rule change to get back to actually "advicing and consenting", then I am very much in favor of that.

There was another Obama federal appointment that was obstructed last week by the GOP to the point where not it's clear they're just not going to do anything to allow Obama to govern, essentially telling the majority that elected him f*** you and your black president we'll only allow governing when it's a Party member.

If this helps undercut some of that ability than by all means Harry Reid go nuclear. This tactic has been abused beyond belief.
