Our social structure is corporate. Corporatism is the mode of production that fuels capitalism. What we think of as fascism, the uniforms, rigorous social code, secret police, and cult of personality are pretty much just an extreme reaction by the ruling class to enforce class privilege in a social pattern not unlike our own. Currently militaristic fascism is being implemented by stealth but once the general public catches on I'm pretty sure we will start seeing state violence against dissenters. A few fringe lunatics aren't worth bothering with, but when leaders in mainstream society like local mayors, police, and other civic minded people start dissenting it's going to cause a real problem.
These secret police agencies that have lately grown so much in power aren't putting people's names on these lists for nothing. They will do something with that information at some point.

Fascist tendencies are a false assumption, and a total swing and a miss on the current state of social development. Ideology is megaphoned by the media as a threat, even though there is not one dark corner of the western industrialized world that would pay attention to ideology over financial opportunity.
Money is the enemy of ideology, and fascism is 140% fueled by ideology. If there are porn controls being implimented, its because there's a porn company who wants to put another porn company out of business.

well regardless... fundamentally the concept of a core of insulated fascist power is no longer possible. Sure a sociopathic-enough CEO could decide that he has enough money to recreate some significant population in his own image through some dark Christ-complex... but the sheer volume of enemies he would have, both through market competition, and politics,... would allow him a very small statistical likelihood of growing his power beyond his financial position. If there is a cosmic and eminently valuable by-product of fiat currency, it's that it forces people to value something other than their own small-minded assumptions about other people. It's a stop gap for the current period of social development.

The solution to fascism, of course, is democratic control of production and allocation.
