Alot of the economy is nothing but a bubble. Rent and housing cost vary alot just in America. I guess its location, location, location.

Austin is the hottest leasing market in the country and you can buy cheaper than you can rent here(monthly payment).
In any similar situation it's going to cause a bubble as housing starts will increase to meet the demand. It's been that way for two years here. I imagine the rest of the world is just now catching up.

A lot of the laws that prevented foreclosure a few years ago are due to expire, therefore there'll be more houses available in the market and prices will drop. The existing price is the bubble price.
