For anyone who wants a shrill-free summary, since reading that post gave me no indication of what e was actually talking about: the world press freedom index lists the US at 46th, which is worse than Russia. Pretty embarrassing.

I'm going to brush that aside and ask: do you not agree that the decline of our "democracy" probably has everything to do with our decline in freedom of the press/lack of press?

Um, I wouldn't go saying the TP is all about liberties just because Rand Paul is on board with the NSA thing. Regardless, where does everybody think we're going to end up if the press is neutered in this country?

If I had to pick a top two I'd say: the uncontrolled cash + the press going AWOL.
Though we can't underestimate the American people deciding to ignore their democracy for things like TMZ or ESPN.

Espn doesn't even do a good job reporting on sports.

I'm glad somebody is suing but it looks more political than anything else. Why did they choose an ex AG with minimal litigation experience to lead the show against the damn feds?
I wish clement would take it. That would have the feds more worried.
Also the ACLU should be involced.
