It's just slimeball social conservatives making sure they're going through the motions to keep their jobs... nothing about this will pass any circuit court... so basically we're just using our tax dollars to keep these dipshits in office.

It is fascinating how many Republicans voters the GOP is fooling.. They constantly scream and bitch about the debt and deficit, yet in reality 90% of their efforts are geared towards social issues and turning back the clock to 1950.

IMO this isn't too far off certain religious folks believing people of color have the mark of Cain and therefore all the religious justification for racism.

Some of the members here have made at least a somewhat respectable case for being able to discriminate. Their concerns revolve more around freedom of association than any personal bigotry. I can at least tolerate that POV.
That said... I think their arguments, and those of the extreme element, are fundamentally out of line with the lessons we've learned in the past sixty years. You cannot make a case against homosexuals without also making that case, even unwillingly, against blacks or Jews or the disabled. Such views should not be embodied in the law, and have no utility in the 21st century. The amount of freedom lost to them greatly outweighs the amount of freedom gained.

Couldn't you just fire an employee for conflict of interest? If you are a faith based organization that would be a no-brainer.
On top of that, why would gheys be working for these places anyways? Does one really want to work for Chick-Fil-A that bad?

i'm sure a doctor would be quite upset losing his six figure job if he was fired from the religious hospital he worked at because he was gay.
or even better, a gay man dying because he was refused help at a religious hospital for being gay.
or any variety of issues that aren't being a fry cook at chik fil a.
