At that particular exchange BitCoin trades near $250. On the wider market it's about $500. Bitcoin prices have fluctuated like this before and ignorant commenters tried to dismiss the protocol in the same way the Internet allegedly died in 2000. Yeah short term speculators are screwed. Good. I use bitcoin as a secondary currency so I'm not affected by this at all.

To be fair most of the people on this forum defending BitCoin were speculators when the success of the currency ultimately relies on its utility.
