Looks interesting and it has indeed ballooned into a huge problem, however, I do wonder if they will address the issue that choices in both degrees and institution to attend do matter and IMO probably have the some of the biggest if not biggest impact on how a student will fare post graduation.

tuition guarantees by the government are the direct reason for why it's gone up so much.
this is all the boomer's fault. boomer's thought, the best thing we can do for our children is make sure they all go to college. all of them. college is so great, we all need it. and they shit on trade schools, and now where are we
but we all f**k don't need to go to college. you shouldnt have to go to college to perform most jobs in this country. trade schools more than cover most things

Interesting thing is, I've never heard the term "boomer" outside of this forum. Could this be another case of insular internet terminology?
also, laughing at the idea that women's studies, etc. are "useless" majors. they like any other field help develop analytical and critical thinking skills which can be applied to other areas such as ngos, grant organizations, businesses, and so on. in fact, corporations for example are now hiring ethnographers trained in social theory to understand various kinds of consumer preferences. the idea that just because you chose a particular major your career path is "done" even though you won't probably even end up going into that field, is laughable. it's the same kind of instrumental thinking that got us into this economic mess, without looking at the larger social reality.

$30,000 in deductions sounds awesome for only $400/mo more in payments, since the extra payment amounts to only $4,800/year, whereas the deductions would net you close to $12,000 less taxes.
