That's a good point. Wouldn't you think that at about, oh, say the $250M mark he'd just start giving everything above that away?

A huge swath of Fox viewers think Catholics are non-christian idol worshippers anyways.

I know that and we went over that last time I posted about this, however: he's quoting... Jesus. The Bible. That's the source, despite the messenger.

Meaning: these are not Catholic teachings. These are Jesus teachings.

That said, Pope or no Pope, if Christians in this country are talking the Jesus talk but not walking the Jesus walk--then they're not really Christians now, are they?

Although they're not even talking the talk, as it is. Quite the opposite.

Jesus doesn't teach anything. Its all just a matter of what denominational lens you find yourself viewing it through.

The only people that could truly learn what Jesus was teaching were those who were there. Next best thing is atheists who can read Aramaic and Greek.

I'm not buying the dog and pony show from this new pope. He's putting a softer, more compassionate face on the same evil empire of Catholicism.

Protip: The catholic church is still just as creepy and morally bankrupt as it was when you were a kid. They've just changed up their marketing. They still perform a ritual re-enactment of human sacrifice in cannibalism. They still guilt and extort rubes who can barely pay their bills to give a big chunk of their paycheck to the church. And THEY STILL PROVIDE SAFE HAVEN TO CHILD RAPISTS AND THOSE WHO ENABLED THEM.
