That's bauce as f**k. Too bad when a lefty decides to write a huge check it's usually for something dumb like the environment rather than a fairer tax code or higher minimum wage etc.

a) Who would object to "environmentally-friendly" candidates in any instance?
b) That said, this is what happens when we decide that money = political (free) speech and can be given to anybody. I can't see the article because of a paywall, but let me guess: does he even live in any of those seven places where he's using his free speech for the candidates?

From a cost-benefit perspective, buying elections and making the government distribute wealth where you see fit is much more effective than just giving billions to the charities of your choice.
