Saw this today. It's really creepy. Funny thing is that of course this has inspired a ton of protest. While these individual incidents disgust me, I'm far more concerned about the discrete erosion of our civil liberties (which come from the security state, not social conservatism) than these out front displays of buffoonery.

Not quite as egregious as what was going on in Texas, but still alarming. Reading what some of these students had to say makes me a bit more optimistic about "kids these days".
A student demonstrator, Tyrone G. Parks, a senior at Arvada High School, said Tuesday that the nation's foundation was built on civil protests, "and everything that we've done is what allowed us to be at this point today. And if you take that from us, you take away everything that America was built off of."

Give that kid an A.
Yeah other school districts even in the state have done a lot worse, but Jeff CO is purple so there's more push back here.

This kind of shit has been going on in Texas for while. Political and/or religious zealots pressure the school boards (or infiltrate them) to teach literally revisionist history.
Truly, truly scary.
Who ARE these people? How is this possible in 2014?

Do I think social conservatism has pushed too far ? Hell yes.
Do US voters think that socal conservatism has pushed too far ? No, they are still winning elections.
