I mean, I'm past the point of democrat or republican. This is getting to me on an entirely different level now. I mean, who in the hell can relate to an ad this pointless and stupid? I mean, are people really this ignorant to sit down and watch this and actually vote for whoever because he voted with Obama on certain issues?


I watched an ad the other day that said that because this congressman voted to not give battered women's shelters MORE money that he was "against women and children". I am literally going to vote for the dude, just to stick it to the guy who approved this ad.

It's a good ad. To answer your question, yeah, ads like that work. And for all the shrill screaming we hear about money in politics, keep in mind that this is where that money goes, and it works. If this shit didn't work, the money wouldn't be so important.

Negative ads have proved to be as successful as they have been disastrous. For example, Wendy Davis in Texas is receiving a nice backlash from her most recent ad. Historically speaking, (and I can be corrected) I think that attack ads have proven successful a majority of the time. I want to say I've seen a documentary on it before.

I don't even have an issue with attack / negative ads. If someone said "This guy voted against this bill that would have done this and voted against that and this would have benefited you by doing this" that's one thing. These people are just saying stuff like "This guy voted with... (dum dum duum) OBAMA.. on one particular bill. Don't throw away your country by voting for an Obama Supporter lol. and apparently the shit works.

Absolutely. There's no point in trying to persuade people on the fence in a midterm year. Just get out the vote amongst those who you can already count on to support your side.

This kind of stuff is exactly why I can't really get on board with eynons tree of liberty talk. Things are f**k up but before we reject the democratic process I think we have to, you know, try using it for once.
