In your quest for finding hypocrisy, I fear you are creating it from thin air.
Being against abortion and for the death penalty are not necessarily conflicting viewpoints.

The problem with Indy's premise is that it suggests that if you are anti choice but also oppose the death penalty, it somehow validates being anti choice. An absurdly bad policy position is an absurdly bad policy position, and other positions on different issues won't change that.

I'd say that there is a certain amount of cognitive dissonance in holding the two beliefs, but no more than, say, believing in the free market and also believing in government infrastructure.
People can and should be hypocritical, complex and nuanced. Ideological consistency is drastically overrated.
