If Thomas Jefferson's plan of an Agricultural America would have prevailed over Alexander Hamilton's Industrial dream...we wouldn't be in this mess. The Civil War put the nail in that coffin.

Well population increases etc are directly related to over production and one generation of birth control can easily solve that.
if most people on the planet live like the typical contemporary american does now there are way too many to be sustainable. However I personally think civilization will transform and survive for the most part. Most of the stuff I like to talk about here are ways in which I see this transformation happening.
