Do you think that could be because those that make good decisions that led to them becoming wealthy continue to make good decisions. Where those that made piss poor decisions resulting in their poverty, continue to make those same decisions and wind up even more destitute? But it's okay, we'll give them Section 8, SNAP, TANF, EITC, a cell phone, and so much more.

a consumer-driven capitalist society is healthiest when the majority have money to spend and move around. having trillions locked up in the hands of a few hundred, stagnating the earnings of everyone else, is not good for our type of economy. this isn't even a "liberal" idea, it's something you're taught in any high school economics class.

Why educate yourself or work when the system is set up to keep you fed, housed, and warm for doing nothing more than filling out some paperwork, giving birth to bastard children, and sitting idle.
