See, some people, those that are responsible people plan things like children. They don't start having kids when they can't afford to feed them and are struggling paycheck to paycheck. They wait until they are established. These are called good decisions. In my case, for example. I was 36 when my first and only child was born. I was almost finished with my first career, married and financially stable. From the month she was born, I chose to save for her college. There were times that I could have used that money for other thing, but I didn't because her college education is important to me.
Should my child have it easier in life? You bet your ass she should. She benefits from my responsible decisions. Of course, because of my pre-planning she won't be eligible for all those grants and loans. She won't be a burden upon the taxpayers when she goes to school.
The opportunities are there. The difference is they will have to work harder for them because of the poor choices their parents made in life. Maybe, they'll learn from these. On the other hand they will have more opportunities for getting funding for school because of those poor choices made by their parents.
